Courtesy of Showbiz ChristchurchThe Isaac Theatre Royal is Christchurch's premier heritage performing arts venue.

This very grand historic theatre is every bit as dramatic as the performances it hosts, but it is certainly no antique. A multi-million dollar refurbishment and redevelopment in 2004/05 upgraded the stage, fly tower, backstage facilities and the orchestra pit to a modern, world-class performing arts venue.

The Theatre features include an elegant dress circle and gallery, glittering chandeliers, a graceful proscenium arch, a sweeping marble staircase and the breathtaking Italianate ceiling dome that is the centrepiece of this beautiful Category 'A' heritage listed building.
