After 2 years of planning the 2009 Christchurch Arts Festival arrives in the central city with a programme to blast away those winter blues and put a smile on the face of the WinterGarden City! A packed CAF programme hits all major venues across town with the Isaac Theatre Royal being the host of THREE of the Main Events. We're proud to be associated with CAF 2009 and hope to see you at The Isaac for a rather special Festival this year. All CAF details below, but first some Front Of Housekeeping...

Neil - General Manager

Shirley Valentine

Close to 1100 people turned out in mid June for the fabulous Shirley Valentine one-night production at the Isaac featuring the amazing Nancy Schroder in the solo role as the hilarious, frank & gorgeous Shirley Valentine.

Excellent reviews and great audience response means we'll definitely bring this fine production back to The Isaac closer to Xmas this year for another one-night stand! So if you missed out this time don't despair, you'll find out all details first here on 'Royal Friends'...

Most importantly though ticket & cocktail sales + bucket collections on the night raised $2000 for the NZ Breast Cancer Foundation. Thank you!

Finally congrats to Babs Johnson who won FOUR tickets to the Shirley show in our 'Friends Bring Friends' competition last month.

Scooby-Doo "Stagefright - Live on Stage"

This coming week 7th & 8th July sees four shows slap-bang in school holidays with the iconic cartoon character Scooby-Doo, this time though its LIVE ON STAGE featuring one hip dog, four cool cats and one groooovy mystery! Reminiscent of a "long-lost episode" Scooby-Doo and friends solve the mystery of a supernatural spectre wreaking havoc at the old Clawhammer Movie Studio, or in this case, the Isaac Theatre Royal! A 90 minute theatrical, musical scoobydelic performance full of hilarious hi-jinx, groovy music and magical special effects. The kids (and parents..) will love it. Book now before it's too late!
