ROYAL NEW ZEALAND BALLET 'THE NUTCRACKER'
A sprinkling of festive fun for everyone!
17-20 November
Based on one of the world’s most loved ballets Royal NZ Ballet’s version of The Nutcracker takes the Christmas classic and adds a twist making this colourful version fun for the whole family.
“It’s a wild adventure set to Tchaikovsky’s fabulous and timeless score,” Choreographer and RNZB’s Artistic Director, Gary Harris.
The adventure begins on Christmas morning when Clara’s rat-bag brother, Fritz, clouts her over the head with her beloved nutcracker doll. Delirious with concussion, Clara is rushed to hospital where she enters a fantasy world brought to life by eye-popping, bold designs inspired by Hollywood’s big studio era. Join the Royal New Zealand Ballet and be transported into the festive season.

IGNITE - CPIT Creative Festival
8, 11 & 13 November
The  CPIT Creative Festival coincides with Christchurch’s annual regional celebration, NZ Cup & Show Week. This year, CPIT are proud to be able to extend their season of Festivities for a further week, so you all have more opportunity to come and see the next generation of designers, performers and media gurus. There are three great shows - FINALE the cabaret of the finest performances from CPIT’s Creative Festival, OUTRO, the annual NASDA end of year show features a performance of CURTAINS and PITCH described by Francis Hooper, who has appeared as a guest judge twice, as “just cool”.
